Making Up Ain't Hard to Do

Judith, Pres Fergus Gillies, Dennis
One of the nice things about Rotary is that you have friends everywhere in the world. Wherever you go, you are welcome at the local Rotary Club meeting.

On our trip to Edinburgh, we took advantage of making up a missed meeting at the Rotary Club of Edinburgh, which is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. They meet for lunch at the King James Thistle Hotel.

It never ceases to amaze me how much we Rotarians are alike. We enjoyed a friendly welcome and great program. The food was..., we'll Rotarian food :). And the Scots almost speak English, which made it fairly easy to understand the speaker, and more importantly, the bad jokes. Good fun, good food, and good fellowship. They even understood my wry sense of humor and invited me to join their club. Hmmmm?

  1. It is wonderful to have fellow Rotarians visit us from all over the world, especially ones who share our sense of humour (yes, that's how it is spelt!). Haste ye back!

    1. Ah, two countries separated by a common language. And the world thinks all Scots are dour! Thanks again for a great afternoon.
